Day 37 - Runway Cop (South Korea)

"Detective Cha (Kang Ji-Hwan) smells bad and is overweight. Nevertheless, he is a devoted cop who always tries his best to catch the bad guys. A new case then arises. Illegal narcotics are infiltrating into the fashion industry and a detective is needed to work undercover as a model. There are only 2 detectives taller than 180 centimeters required to work as a fashion model. One of them is Detective Cha and the other detective walks strangely due to to a hemorrhoidectomy. Detective Cha is selected to go undercover as a male model in designer Ko Young-Jae's (Sung Yu-Ri) next fashion show. Designer Ko Young-Jae tells Detective Cha that he has to lose 20 kilograms in 2 weeks so that he can work as a model in her upcoming show. Detective Cha then goes on a strenuous regiment to lose the weight. "-Awiki

This film is so funny, I didn't think Kang Ji-Hwan would do a good job but he did. This film made me laugh so many times and kept me interested. Though I doubt that many female fans will like the beginning of the film since it shows Kang Ji-Hwan as a overweight detective.  I like Sung Yu-Ri's character, she has some character development that makes the romance side of this film work though I wish there was more romance to help the film especially at the end.
This film was the best comedy I have seen this year, don't worry though the comedy isn't totally out of control like Dead Ball. They really made a successful romantic comedy cop film.

Cast
Kang Ji-Hwan (Also starred in Rough Cut, and the drama Lie to Me)

Sung Yu-Ri as Young Jae (Also starred in How to Keep My Love, and the dramas Romance Town, Bad Girls, Love of Thousand Years)

Day 36 - My P.S. Partner (South Korea)

"Yoon-Jung (Kim A-Joong) accidentally calls a stranger, instead of her boyfriend, and has phone sex with the unknown man. When Yoon-Jung's relationship with her boyfriend turns sour, Yoon-Jung meets Hyun-Seung (Ji Sung), the stranger she had phone sex with. Yoon-Jung falls in love with the man ... "

Truly a unique film that was so interesting, the actors were great. This film is the most erotic one I'm seen from South Korea and one of the best one's I've ever seen. I am a fan of Kim A-Joong she's a good romantic comedy actress.
The other characters were very interesting and funny. Even though this film is about sex, there is a lot of depth in there that you wouldn't expect. It's not fully about sex but the sex was used to entertain us. This film is about freedom in a way as well as the relationships between humans.

Day 35 - ...Ing (korean movie)

"Min-ah (Im Soo-jung) is a young woman who has become reserved and aloof to the world as a result of her chronic illness and deformed hand. The film quietly portrays the unconventional, yet endearing relationship between Min-ah and her mother Mi-sook (Lee Mi-sook), as well as Min-ah's development as she is befriended by the high-spirited and carefree photographer Young-jae (Kim Rae-won) who moves into their apartment complex."

Truly a beautiful film, often silly at times but there was real depth in this film. Im Soo-jung did a remarkable job with her acting, so did lee Mi-sook but Im Soo-jung was the better of the two. This film is cute yet tragic it has a great meaning. Don't be expecting a Hollywood, this is a more realistic film. At times its a true tearjerker. True love at it's work though this film does need work.

Day 34 - My Darling is a Foreigner (Japan)

This cute film is about the life of mangaka Saori Oguri and her relationship with Tony Lazlo.

First off it's a cute film, it is especially for people who like cutesy romantic comedies. First off the actor portraying Tony, has displayed some of the best acting of a foreigner in  a Japanese film though he wasn't that good. His character was slightly underwritten while Saori's character was fully developed and could express more than one emotion well.
This is not a film for those looking for a serious film dealing with interracial relationships between Japanese and American people. Though it does go into that a bit but it's more light hearted until towards the end. Even that was under written, let's just say the script might have served better as drama series rather than an actual film.

P.s. Mao Inoue is so cute!

Day 33 - Miracle of Giving Fool (South Korea)

"Ji-ho is a promising pianist, studying and playing abroad for years. But one night she had a stage fright and never recovers. In despair, Ji-ho comes home and meets her old classmate Sung-ryong. Once a very bright boy, Sung-ryong had an accident and now he is in late 20s with the mind of a six year old. He is very forgetful, but he has never forgotten his first love Ji-ho. Other half of Sung-ryong's dumb mind is occupied with his only family younger sister Jee-in. To take care of her, Sung-ryong sells toasts in front of Jee-in's school. But Jee-in is embarrassed of her idiotic brother and ignores him. And Sang-soo is Sung-ryong's old friend who understands Sung-ryong's innocent mind. But he inevitably falls to the world of gangsters. Ji-ho is still in her slump, Jee-in falls sick and Sang-soo gets involved in a bloody dispute. But all of their agonies are miraculously saved by Sung-ryong in a way nobody has forseen. " -idmb

An inspiring film that will make you think, if not something might be wrong with you (or you just don't like the movie but I prefer my first statement). All the actors especially the lead did a great job, he made a believable character. This kind of character is always hard for an actor to portray and is also hard for some movie watchers to believe the character. Although there is comedy, a deeper and darker theme can be found in this film. The film isn't close to being perfect, there are a few character developments I did not like. Since it didn't even show Hie-Young in the end and only briefly showed Ha Ji-Won's character. I wished in some of the final scenes that all the main characters say goodbye together and not just the younger sister. It might have made the scenes building up to the ending, even more powerful.
Ha Ji-Won was wonderful, I love her as an actress. She starred in one of the first Korean Dramas I ever watched (Secret Garden).

Cast

Chae Tae-Hyun as Sung-ryong (Also starred in The Scandal Makers and My Sassy Girl)

Day 32 - How to keep my love (South Korea)

"Hyun-Joo is a 29-year-old woman who believes that she has nothing to show for herself, except a successful relationship with her boyfriend. One day, her boyfriend So-Hoon, who is sweet and gentle, goes to a department store to shop for her and ends up stuck in a broken elevator with the famous, gorgeous movie star Da-Young, who is soon attracted to him for his easygoing and down-to-earth personality... "

Cute but really needs work, as I don't find the ending an actually good one. It really didn't deliver a sentimental punch, instead the director chose to end the film with a clichéd ending you would suspect in a bad American movie.
Nothing really is resolved in the film, so many characters were introduced but that didn't have a whole lot of depth. Even the main actress was so poorly written, I was rooting for the other girl the whole time. I was so disappointed in how this was written, the actors are fine in what they do, but the director definitely  needs to study up his game.

Day 31 - Fortune Salon (south Korea)

Sorry I'm behind, I've been sick.

"Tae-rang (Park Ye-Jin) is gifted clairvoyant who runs a posh fortune telling salon in Cheongdam, Seoul. She helps guide her elite clients on matters of love and life altering choices. Yet fate has it that Tae-rang's personal life is always cursed. All the men that Tae-rang has shown interest have become harmed in one way or another. As a child, Tae-rang's mother, also a clairvoyant, told Tae-rang that she is destined to meet a man born May 16, 1978 at 11 pm before she turns 28."

A very cute romantic comedy from South Korea. It had a few interesting characters, I wished some of them had more time in the film. Don't get me wrong the main couple were okay, they didn't have chemistry but had some great movements together. It was sitting in my Netflix queue for a very long time before I decided to watch it. It's cute but needed something more.
