Day 344- Fighter in the Wind (Korean)

Fighter in the Wind movie poster.jpg

"is based on the Japanese book Karate Baka Ichidai which is a fictionalized account of karate competitor Choi Yeung-Eui (최영의, 崔永宜) who went to Japan after World War II to become a fighter pilot but found a very different path instead. He changed his name to Masutatsu Oyama (大山倍達) and went across the country, defeating martial artists one after another. This film concentrates on the period when he is still young, and developing his famous karate style, Kyokushin."

This film was so bad there was no real value in it. Honestly I think the character was utterly pathetic, I know they were trying  to show him go from weak to strong. But the way they set it up mad it seem like he was so a weakling he dare not stand up for himself. There was a lot of Anti-American and Anti-Japanese feelings in this movie. I understand why they did this but I didn't like the way it was set up. I find fault in the plot and the main actor who wasn't as good as everyone says. The action scenes were horrible and uncharismatic to the point they were boring. The direction was poor and seemed rushed even though it is over two hours long. I suggest you skip this movie!
