Day 125 - The Artist and The Model (French language Spainsh Film)

 

 

"In the summer of 1943 in the occupied France, a famous sculptor, tired of life, finds a desire to return to work with the arrival of a young Spanish woman who has escaped from a refugee camp and becomes his muse."

 

An interesting film full of art and nudity with almost sad undertone. The model (Aida Folch) is very beautiful and it is interesting to see her evolve as a character. The old man aka the artist (Jean Rochefort)  is gifted as a sculptor, he knows true beauty. The film is very interesting if you happen to be artistic but if you are not. The film might seem bland which shows that the director failed to bring the film to all audiences.
